  3. I've done a thing! I created a plug-in for IntelliJ (Open Source version is supported) that adds TorqueScript support. Behold: TorqueScript Language Support - Plugins | JetBrains It can be found from inside the IntelliJ plug-in menu as well. Feature highlights: Highlighting and code-completion Support for builtin functions and classes Debugger support It's still rough around the edges, but I'd love to hear if you use it and if you have any feedback as it is currently under active development. 5. It was just the only obvious flaw I noticed in the trailer, maybe a non developer will not notice it, but I did immediately.
  6. Thanks, Duion. I always appreciate your constructive criticism. The LODs are on my list to do. I just didn't want to mess with it before release. I'll have it fixed soon.
  7. Looks really professional, only issue I found was the aggressive LOD popping in the scene that starts at 28 seconds, that should be fixed. Try to increase the LOD distance and try to get the fizzle fade method working properly then it should be fine.
  8. The game is now live and can be purchased on Steam! Official website visitorsthegame.com #VisitorsFirstContact
  9. Greetings Fellow Creatives, This week’s new free-to-use-with-attribution music tracks are: On my Fantasy 12 page: SWEET DREAMING SWEET DREAMING_v001 https://soundimage.org/fantasy-12/ On my Puzzle Music 7 page: SNOWY PUZZLER SNOWY PUZZLER_v001 https://soundimage.org/puzzle-music-7/ And on my Sci-Fi 10 page: GALACTIC RENAISSANCE https://soundimage.org/sci-fi-10/ I hope everyone has a productive week!
  10. Thanks for doing all this and releasing it! This is 100% functional in 2021 with the Index + controllers, still using SDK build 1.0.17. I tried throwing 1.16.8 in, but enough has changed that I'll probably need to upgrade a few builds at a time, and for the moment this is working perfectly. Only one proper technical issue so far: The LOD system doesn't function in VR (take a look a the vehicle in the empty terrain map). Will investigate. At the moment I just have it hacked to always use max LOD. --- TL;DR portion below, discussing gameplay implementation details for VR in T3D Right now you can reach parity with No Man's Sky by simply using the seated mode. This is more than sufficient for vehicle cockpits, and it's workable for a player character if you don't mind that it's not proper roomscale (you can walk away from your Player body). Like in NMS, you can just tell the player they've moved too far from their character body and do an auto-recenter. If concerned about the player putting their head through geometry, you can run a raycast every tick between the character's head and the VR HMD. That plus putting the ShapeBaseImage on a tracked controller is sufficient for your basic singleplayer experience as long as you don't have too many narrow doorways. The player never sees their own body, it's just used for collision volume and taking damage, so they won't care that your hands and gun don't line up with the rest of the body. I think for a basic crossplay multiplayer experience, getting the Player to line up its aim angle with the held VR gun should be sufficient. Limited, because it eliminates all the fun VR social interface of gestures and head tracking, but functional for putting VR and flat players into the same world. Your avatar will do odd stuff if you throw the gun around, but nothing more odd than what you can do now by spinning with your mouse. I'm also running your GuiOnObject2 implementation for VR GUIs. Working on a hybrid of laser pointer and touchscreen, where you can point and click the trigger from a distance, but at very close range it will register as an auto-click like a touchscreen. It needs basic collision detection (prevent the hand from going through the screen) to work the way I really want it, where you would be able to touch and swipe to move a slider. Will share whatever I come up with on this if it's any good.

  15. These are pics of thge decal road these textures are solid across and present some issues depending on the combination of alpha and/or transparencies applied . the next couple images are pretty bad case examples , the sub transparency , which these pics are not , looks pretty good as the top appears to overlay the bottom but I dont get shadows so ???. Im also going to look into whether different methods used with the terrain textures and/or their normal maps make any difference . thanks , oops forgot to Olive her out .
  16. thank you LoLJester , I appreciate that . Good luck with your new game .
  17. Looks cool, though.
  18. in the last post , the pics show that the shading doesnt change for the decals according to its angle as it does for the the road . So , my big idea of adding decals to the vehicle position doesnt seem likely unless Im overooking something still . I guess Ill consider creating a road , even though that seems inefficient , maybe , but you know , just playing with it . The road is just as ugly where it crosses itself .
  19. this is the decal . its the best I can do so far today . as I find myself becoming a bit pickier , I still dont find it too distrackting for a game environment , but yea . theyre ugly where they cross . BTW this is ver 3.9
  20. Do the tracks appear behind the tank when he is driving? You could at least give the tank an olive color, you can do that instantly in the material editor in Torque3D. The Insane bump plugin is not the best normal map generator, consider trying a proper one.
  21. Maybe you guessed I was going here .
  22. hope everyone's doin well . I made a nifty road material , I think . a 512x512 which combines a few images from old demos such as FPS demo , African Savanna Pack , and Duions art , using GIMP and the Insane bump addon .
