Yes, the years spent playing Realm Wars and Planet Bang/Bang World were super formative for me Noah! And I remember you well.

Thanks for making this post on the forums here. Because you did, Google recently indexed the key term "Realm Wars" and I was able to find the link to your Lost Tapes montage that is currently unlisted on your account and relive the nostalgia. I've been inspired to re-create Realm Wars/Planet Bang (created by [!!!]bit) in the Godot Game engine. I'm about a month-and-a-bit into development now and recently had my first multiplayer test with some co-workers. I've already fixed a ton of sound bugs from this clip, and added even more features.

Leave a comment on the video to get in touch! I want to gather old RW players and have them play again! It's why I'm working hard to re-create this. I'd be honored to have your feedback and direction on re-creating this because you're a super creative person — I thought the Lost Tapes was the best thing I had ever seen when you first released it back in the day.

Yea, it's being made by me at the moment!

do have Torque experience, with TGE version 1.0 - 1.4 or whatever Realm Wars was using back in 2003 I believe. I was barely a teenager, but I learned how to modify a bunch of the torque script files (.cs extension at the time) and I ended up creating a mod for Realm Wars that some people played!

Been learning the Godot game engine for the past 2 years or so and I've always wanted to recreate RW, so now I am :O.

If you know godot you can do in t3d well quickly, its different but in terms of scripting and assets usage its very similar in lots of ways and you have ingame editors for almost anything similar on how godot can handle things with some creative script usage.

Also if you use formats like dae(preferably)/fbx/3ds/... and ogg/wav whatever its fairly straight forward to do a port.

In godot you have to do many things yourself for 3d environments that t3d has ready well designed to use already.

I find godot is really nice for making tools and assorted programs that need a good frontent and cheap quicky games.

T3d really is my dream engine however, i had tried and looked at many engines before and nothing was quite right but t3d just hits the spot in terms of all things 3d for me.

No doubt. I actually loved the TGE workflow and still remember all of the hot keys lol (I've never used T3D tbh). But for now I'm continuing development in Godot. The list of changes I've made and features added is a lot since 9 days ago when I made the previous video. This is my progress now. It probably includes 30+ new features including character movement differences and a new sliding and zooming system.
