fLUnKnhaXYU Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 I'm working on a little beginners guide for preparing a model to be used as a wheeledVehicle in torque3D 4.01 . The little guide will recommend that anyone new to torque use the 4.01 binary . This would require the use of the FPS modules listed below . So , now for the part that involves me , again . My computer is old , my OS is windows 7 . I cant access these files on my computer thus I am not sure of their availability . would anybody happen to know if the downloads are available ? and thanks and have a nice day . https://github.com/Torque3DResources/FPSGameplay https://github.com/Torque3DResources/FPSEquipment https://github.com/Torque3DResources/FPSPlayer https://github.com/Torque3DResources/inventorySystem https://github.com/Torque3DResources/noticeSystem Quote
JeffR Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 Certainly unusual. Far as I can tell there shouldn't be anything that'd block access as they're public repos. Presumably you can see the main https://github.com/TorqueGameEngines/Torque3D repo alright? Is there a specific error or message when you try and access the FPS module repos? Quote
fLUnKnhaXYU Posted March 10, 2024 Author Posted March 10, 2024 JeffR , yes I can see the page , I cannot find a way to download the stuffin . Quote
JeffR Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 So that option doesn't appear for you at all? Quote
fLUnKnhaXYU Posted March 10, 2024 Author Posted March 10, 2024 JeffR , I don't know if it matters but I don't have a Github account . All I am doing is clicking the link . Its as if I am only being allowed to look at the page . I also ignored the manage cookies / dont share my data thing . You've been too kind already , if others can access the files then I have no other concern . But I'd be happy to cooperate if you want to resolve the issue . Quote
Duion Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Since Microsoft bought Github it stopped working for me in my browser and I had also many friends report to me them having various issues with Github since then, ideally you should move away from Github to a better platform since things will most certainly not get better in the future with Github. fLUnKnhaXYU Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 dear Mr Duion , simply , Thanx . Quote
JeffR Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 @fLUnKnhaXYU It's hypothetically possible it's a cookies thing, but I don't believe so. I'd just logged out of my accounts completely and am still able to see the download link this end. I can't say I've seen the issues or reflection the opinions Duion has, as there's never to date been any issues with Github. Given that it's the most used and robust platform, I think dismissing it out of hand because of an odd bit where the download link is gone is probably overshooting by quite a bit. What browser are you currently using when looking at the repository page? Quote
Duion Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 It is not my opinion it is facts, the issues started right after Microsoft bought it, of course people that use some default chrome browser with all javascript, cookies, spyware, ads etc enabled then it actually may work, but this cannot be a solution to just accept them trying to bully everyone with alternative software away and that is not the only issue as I've said I had multiple friends report to me several other issues like not being able to download stuff from Github similar to this issue here probably also some others complained to me they cannot commit anything to Github or were shadowbanned by default and such stuff. It is not just some issue with me, but a whole lot of issues for various people. I deleted everything since I kept getting emails to add new verification bullshit and so on and the site never worked anyways, so why even deal with this nonsense, it is clearly a corporate takeover attempt and Microsoft is trying to destroy open source projects. JeffR , Its firefox , the files in the program folder are 2017 and 2018 . Edited March 13, 2024 by fLUnKnhaXYU Quote
Azaezel Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 https://github.com/Torque3DResources/FPSGameplay/archive/refs/heads/master.zip https://github.com/Torque3DResources/inventorySystem/archive/refs/heads/master.zip for the fails? and sure. Might even use that somehow for the project manager fallbacks. Wouldn't let folks check for *updates* per-se but... something to mull on. Quote
fLUnKnhaXYU Posted May 18, 2024 Author Posted May 18, 2024 Probably no big surprise but a browser update has resolved my github page problem stuff . thx again . youre the best ! Quote
