So , Ill just add that the hill is like , very steep , vertical , 90 degreeish. TY Edited January 22 by fLUnKnhaXYU additional info
Duion
Try have neutral brightness terrain textures, like around the 128 mark. Terrain textures add up onto each other and when you then add shadow to them it also adds up. That is the only thing that comes into my mind, the hills are not 90 degrees, not even 45 probably, does the hillside have the same texture as the ground? Where is the sun located? What is the ambient shadow scale? Etc etc so many unknown variables. Your whole scene is slightly messed up, shadow too dark, sky too bright, terrain too blurry, ground cover probably wrong blend algorithm, trees too saturated, I mean the shadows are not your only problem probably. fLUnKnhaXYU
Duion , thx , sry , i thought the sun was in this pic but you can see the dge jusr in the center , straight ahead . see that i smooth sloped the hill on the right side and painted a rock texture over part of the left . the shadow is over the same grassy texture as the rest . the ambient is just a little less than the sun scale which is nearly white . the overdark is its default setting 3000 2000 1000 250 . changing it had little or no effect on this terrain shadow. I think the brightness is around 8 . thanks again .
Duion
Maybe they broke it in the new version, try comparing old version of Torque vs new.
fLUnKnhaXYU
I failed to mention exposure , which , combined with several tweaks of the brightness setting , re_exporting various images and playing with the hdr settings in the postFX editor , sorta , greatly , improved the matter . in my humble opinion , I dont know which was the more important factor . I believe it was a combination of all of them and Im basically pretty happy with the results . hope you enjoy these new fascinating show-offs brb .. forgot to upload them . Duion
Looks better already, regarding the settings, you should know what you are doing and not randomly modify all the values.
