  1. I know I should not engage in discussions with you, but you have again no idea what you are talking about :p A bridge does not move everything to Discord, the opposite is the case, i.e. everything is moved off Discord and they only retain a tiny fraction of the user data that they currently get. Of course you could argue that it makes it easier to stay on Discord, but lets face the truth here... the majority of people will stay there for the time being. But at least with the bridge they have a good alternative available.
  2. If there is interest we are currently working on a Mattermost based team-chat for interested open source game projects https://chat.freegamedev.net Mattermost offers a lot of neat devops integrations such as https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-plugin-github We also have a Matterbridge running that could bridge to the existing Discord and IRC chats. However, I have to say that Duion is currently banned on our network due to excessive trolling :) I might be willing to give him a third? chance though :p P.S. we also have a new Gitea based code hosting repository: git.freegamedev.ne
  3. Haha, typical case of the wrong guy with the right "arguments" :) Discord really is pretty bad and basically owned by the Chinese government... But the argument is a bit silly as most other open-source games have long solved this issue by simply bridging their IRC channel to Discord. Works great and is easy to host: https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge
  4. Works great on Solus Linux, except that you have to install the openal-devel packages to get sound. Thanks a lot!
  5. Hmm, plan to move away from T3D and no linux support even though the engine supports it? And flexi-funding... sorry but this really doesn't sound very interesting from my perspective. But all the best for the campaign.
  6. The paintball stuff is just another game mode, or do you think this will be the new overall art/theme direction? I think it's a good idea because there are not many paintball simulators around, I guess.
  7. Somewhat OT: But this is a great FOSS replacement for Trello if someone wants to revitalize this: http://kanboard.net/
  8. This would also be awesome: http://sundog-soft.com/sds/3d-water-oceans-torque-3d/ (Edit: http://sundog-soft.com/sds/2015/06/torque-3d-triton-ocean-integration-updated/ ok not so "abandoned" yet... well still an awesome system it seems). And maybe some of the things showcased here: https://www.youtube.com/user/deepscratchstudios/videos (especially some additional build in water effects would be cool).
  9. Seems like a lot of the neat new features in each release come from authors graciously donating their former commercial plugins under the MIT license (Thanks!)... so maybe we can actively approach some more and see if the code & assets can be liberated also? For example the DRIVE: Advanced Vehicle Kit seems long dead commercially speaking: https://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/21476 But could be a very nice addition to the current MIT release. Does anyone still know the original Author, or is he/she maybe still active in this forums? The contact Email seems to be: medan121
