  1. I know I should not engage in discussions with you, but you have again no idea what you are talking about :p

A bridge does not move everything to Discord, the opposite is the case, i.e. everything is moved off Discord and they only retain a tiny fraction of the user data that they currently get. Of course you could argue that it makes it easier to stay on Discord, but lets face the truth here... the majority of people will stay there for the time being. But at least with the bridge they have a good alternative available.

  2. If there is interest we are currently working on a Mattermost based team-chat for interested open source game projects https://chat.freegamedev.net

Mattermost offers a lot of neat devops integrations such as https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-plugin-github

We also have a Matterbridge running that could bridge to the existing Discord and IRC chats.

However, I have to say that Duion is currently banned on our network due to excessive trolling :) I might be willing to give him a third? chance though :p

P.S. we also have a new Gitea based code hosting repository: git.freegamedev.net

  3. How about making the entire game open-source? You can still sell the compiled full version if you want.

For animations, maybe the CC-by-SA licensed set from Ryzom would do?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzomblend/files/ (and bends, but I have not checked the quality),

otherwise see discussion here for tools and iqm / fbx converts:

    http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5138&p=67328

P.S.: The name is horrible and I don't get what it has to do with dot.NET?

  4. Hmm, plan to move away from T3D and no linux support even though the engine supports it? And flexi-funding... sorry but this really doesn't sound very interesting from my perspective. But all the best for the campaign.

  5. Recent (?) improvements (as of version 2.76b) also made the import of .dae files into blender quite bit better, the default Torque soldier seems to import with a functional rig fine now.

Just the animations are still impossible to import as they are in separate files. I even tried to copy&paste the relevant sections of the collada files by hand in a text-editor, but no luck :(

Is there anyone who has a .dae or .fbx etc. that actually includes all the animations etc. in one file?

  6. Seems like a lot of the neat new features in each release come from authors graciously donating their former commercial plugins under the MIT license (Thanks!)... so maybe we can actively approach some more and see if the code & assets can be liberated also?

For example the DRIVE: Advanced Vehicle Kit seems long dead commercially speaking:

    https://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/21476

But could be a very nice addition to the current MIT release. Does anyone still know the original Author, or is he/she maybe still active in this forums? The contact Email seems to be: medan121 at gmail dot com.

    Any other ideas?

Nice could be also to integrate various more game templates for people to touch the ground running so to speak:

This for example: https://www.garagegames.com/community/resources/view/22447 is already Torque3D MIT compatible and open source

Maybe there is also a RTS template that could be liberated, a racing game template could be done with the above, a Flight/space flight template would be cool, a 3rd person RPG template etc.
