  1. I had never heard of it - had to google it to discover that it's "THE WORLD'S LEADING PLATFORM FOR MOBILE ONLINE COMMUNITIES" according to their own site.


    I'll say that this part has some potential for bringing money in for the SC to work with:

    Monetize your community on mobile with Tapatalk’s comprehensive advertising solution.

    But it's a double-edged sword - will people tolerate ads?

     

    im not certain the ads are mandatory but i dont proclaim to know how these things work, i view a few forums (Yaktribe/Warseer/Odroid) with tapatalk while im out and i dont see any adds on them

     

    Personally I don't browse the web on my phone unless it's spur of the moment and I need to find out what's at the theater, or occasionally Google some shit to prove a point. I certainly wouldn't be posting in forums from it since my posts all get to be like this one and I don't want to type that much on a phone - painfully annoying.


    Maybe we need a poll - how many people are really interested in accessing this via their mobile devices?

     

    i dont tend to post from tapatalk, i use it more for viewing/catching up with whats happening, a poll seems like a good idea

    I'm in need of a logo for my FreeRPG Project and was hoping one of you may be able to help me out by creating one for me. I have been trying a few different things myself but have never been happy with anything i create. This is probably the best of my days attempts at this :

    I don't know if it is allowed but the only other design "idea" i have had is to use the T3D logo and place a sword or something running through the middle either straight up or a couple in a cross. If you have your own idea's that's great, i'm pretty much open to anything. :D The only stipulation i have is that you license it with an open source friendly license.


    I hope somebody can help me out and i'm afraid the only payment i can offer is eternal gratitude and a special mention on the FreeRPG website.

  3. im not amazingly keen on seperating the art if possible, its part of the reason i chose gitlab with 10gb per repo


    is the reason for splitting the art due to git and how it handles binary files ? i have read quite a few conflicting articles on it and from my small un-scientific test when i defined the art as binary in the git attributes file it didnt seem to slow git down too much like it does when they werent defined

  5. ive been going round in circles for a few weeks now trying to figure out the best way to host my project FreeRPG and i have a few questions regarding the issue, first a little info about what im wanting to achieve, i want to create an RPG that people can play and then either simply "mod" it or use it as a base for their own RPG creation, this is how i have things set up right now

    i have included the whole engine with my project (excluding buildfiles and a few other things) so if anyone wants to help they can just build from my latest commit, is that the right way to do it ?


    would i be any better hosting the engine and then creating and updating a template from my project instead of including the project in the repo ? this way they can use the game/template to get any source modifications for their own project and torque can remain unchanged from upstream (i think, correct me if im wrong) and then when i have a "release" i could have a seperate repo just for the released version of the game


    also, whoever mentioned Sourcetree in IRC i cant thank you enough, makes git a lot easier to use, someone also mentioned submodules but i confused myself when i was trying to figure it all out, is that a better option than the others above ?


    does any of that make sense ? am i going in the wrong direction ? can anyone offer any help/advice ?

  6. It builds! It runs! However, there is no sound on Debian Wheezy. During startup, I see this in the console:

    i also get no sound through either openal/null, ubuntu 14.04


    one other thing i have noticed is when i try typing into anything (naming things/etc) if any of the keys i need to type are pre-set shortcuts for something then you cant always type that letter because it does whatever the shortcut is, i have noticed u and g being problematic so far

  7. installed following the instructions from the wiki on Ubuntu MATE 14.04 with nvidia 346.22 driver from ppa last night, after some fumbling around with a libGL linker error which i couldnt fix and i put down to my GFX driver being configured wrong, i reinstalled Ubuntu MATE and my GFX driver from the correct source then followed torque wiki and it worked perfectly !


    i get a few errors when trying to close the program or change from editor to play mode, where would useful information be stored so i can post a log ? here is my console.log when it happens, its the only file iv noticed so far which could help
